# CortexCommerce

> CortexCommerce is an AI commerce platform with a growing suite of focused apps. Each app keeps the merchant in control and builds on the enriched catalog the previous app produced: CortexGuard enriches the catalog and makes it findable by AI assistants and search; CortexPersona (in development) makes the storefront personal for every shopper. CortexGuard is available on Shopify today; the platform is built to support additional commerce channels over time.

## What we are

CortexCommerce is an AI commerce platform — not a separate dashboard or spreadsheet workflow. Focused apps sit on the channels you already run (Shopify today; more commerce channels over time). Each app solves hard jobs for merchants: CortexGuard covers catalog enrichment and AI/SEO discovery; CortexPersona covers personalization. Later apps work better when earlier ones have already improved your catalog.

## Why we built this

Merchants are expected to compete on product quality, findability, and personal experience — but most stores still run on incomplete catalogs, weak SEO, and storefronts that look the same to every visitor. Manual fixes do not scale across hundreds or thousands of SKUs, and the channels shoppers use are shifting from classic search into AI assistants and answer engines.
We built CortexCommerce so merchants can close that gap with AI that respects your commerce platform, keeps structured fields like SKU and price safe, and never publishes without merchant approval.

## The merchant problem we solve

- **Thin, inconsistent catalogs** — missing descriptions, duplicate SEO titles, untagged products, and images without alt text make products hard to find and hard to trust.
- **Invisible to AI and modern search** — without structured, machine-readable data (Schema.org, llms.txt, discovery feeds), stores are poorly represented when shoppers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, or Gemini for recommendations.
- **One-size-fits-all storefronts** — every visitor sees the same catalog order even when order history and browsing behavior could surface what is most relevant to them.
- **AI risk without control** — merchants need enrichment and personalization that does not silently overwrite prices, SKUs, inventory, or live content.

**What it does:** CortexGuard turns thin, inconsistent product data into rich, accurate, search-ready content — product and collection descriptions, SEO titles, meta, Vision AI image alt text, and tags, with outbound webhooks to keep connected systems in sync. And because shoppers now ask AI assistants for products, it also scans your storefront the way those assistants see it, scores every product page, verifies AI crawlers aren't blocked, fills the structured-data gaps in one click, measures the before → after lift, and counts the visitors AI actually sends you. You stay in control: review, edit, or reject every change before it touches your live store — or turn on daily automation with a confidence threshold and credit cap you set.

- **Guardrails you control** — Decide exactly what AI may touch: pick the fields it's allowed to write, exclude products, vendors, tags, or collections entirely, and ban words or phrases — with an impact preview before any rule takes effect.
- **Review before publish** — Every draft lands in a review inbox. Approve, edit, or reject — nothing reaches your live catalog until you say so.
- **Automation on your terms** — Optional autopilot: enrich new and updated items daily and auto-publish only drafts above a confidence threshold you set — always under a per-run credit cap. Off by default; everything waits in your review inbox until you switch it on.
- **AI Visibility scan & score** — See your storefront the way AI assistants see it. Every product page is scanned and scored 0–100, with exactly what's missing — structured data, social tags, canonical URLs — spelled out.
- **AI crawler access check** — Every scan verifies that GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and Bingbot can actually reach your store — and alerts you when a robots rule is quietly blocking one of them.
- **Structured data, one click** — A theme app embed adds Product JSON-LD, Open Graph tags, and canonical URLs to your product pages — and only fills the gaps your theme leaves open, so nothing is ever duplicated.
- **See your AI traffic** — A lightweight web pixel counts the visitors AI assistants send you — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot, broken out per product, per day. Aggregate counters only: no cookies, no customer identity.
- **Measured lift, not promises** — Enriched products are re-scanned so you see the before → after score lift on every product, how enriched products compare to the rest of your catalog, and your recent wins — measured, never simulated.

### CortexPersona — Storefront Personalization

**What it does:** CortexPersona builds a living profile — a persona — for every shopper from their orders and on-site behavior, then personalizes what they see. It starts with a "For You" page tailored to each customer, rendered right on your storefront and in their pocket.

**Key capabilities:**

## How the suite fits together

1. **CortexGuard** enriches the product catalog — product and collection descriptions, SEO fields, Vision AI alt text (written from the actual images), and tags, with opt-in daily automation under a merchant-set confidence threshold and credit cap — so you have an accurate data foundation. It then makes that catalog visible to AI: it scans every product page the way AI assistants and crawlers see it and scores it 0–100, verifies AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Bingbot) aren't blocked, injects Product JSON-LD, Open Graph tags, and canonical URLs through a one-click theme app embed (duplicate-safe — it only fills what the theme doesn't already provide), re-scans enriched products to measure the before → after lift, and measures first-party how many visitors arrive from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot per product, per day (aggregate counters only — no cookies, no customer identity). Approved enrichments fire outbound webhooks so connected systems like PIMs, ERPs, and headless frontends stay in sync automatically.
2. **CortexPersona** turns order history and on-site behavior plus the enriched catalog into a living persona per shopper, then personalizes the storefront — starting with a per-shopper "For You" page with transparent match scores and human-readable reasons.

Well-known Shopify brands are ranked head-to-head on a curated public leaderboard. But every store CortexCommerce has ever scanned — leaderboard brand or not — gets its own public scan report, plus a markdown mirror built for agents to fetch directly, no HTML to parse.
